For the8th consecutive year the Mid-West Garrison of the 501st Legion participated in the Bartlett, Illinois Independence Day Parade aka the Force Of July. Background – Star Wars has become an important fixture for this event. This is the biggest parade of the year for the Mid-West Garrison. The 501st and the Rebel Legion will have a float / trailer. Every year the participation gets bigger and once again it is open to ALL Star Wars costume groups 501st, Rebel Legion, Jedi Assembly, Fan Force, Mercs, etc. and their friends and family. The 501st will be handing out marshmallows during the Parade again this year. After the parade there will be the annual 501st BBQ near the Beer tent. Lots of fun and a great chance to meet up other star wars costumers. Des Moines Renaissance Faire 2006 – Channel 13 TV

Iowa’s first permanent renaissance festival theme park opened in September 2006 in Des Moines. We made a few TV appearances to answer questions about the new event and explain how it was different from all the soft/tent events held in the city in past years. Scheduled to appear this day was myself (in pirate costume) and our two mudshow performers. They got lost, so Diandra, who was riding with me and dressed up, was quickly pulled in to do the interview with me when we realized our Muddy Misfits weren’t going to make it in time.

Members of Annwyn Costumers and the MySciFiFan Star Wars costume Contingent enjoying the thematic music broadcast at a Speedy Video outlet in Ikano Power Centre. The group was hired as costumed talent for the Revenge of the Sith video release roadshow which covered video retail outlets in four major shopping malls around Kuala Lumpur on the 12th and 13th of November, 2005.
