SheVaCon 2009, one of my friends put a bounty on my boyfriend to have the Mandalorian Mercs capture him and put him in a “jail” for five minutes. No video of the jail because I had other things to do, but at least I got video of the capturing I had only found out about just minutes before.
For the8th consecutive year the Mid-West Garrison of the 501st Legion participated in the Bartlett, Illinois Independence Day Parade. Background – Star Wars has become an important fixture for this event. This is the biggest parade of the year for the Mid-West Garrison. The 501st and the Rebel Legion will have a float / trailer. Every year the participation gets bigger and once again it is open to ALL Star Wars costume groups 501st, Rebel Legion, Jedi Assembly, Fan Force, Mercs, etc. and their friends and family. The 501st will be handing out marshmallows during the Parade again this year. After the parade there will be the annual 501st BBQ near the Beer tent. Lots of fun and a great chance to meet up other star wars costumers.
