Yeah, it is sad, when either humans or pets don’t make it to a ripe old age, like we hope they do. I guess I can be thankful, that I rescued this Eskimo from an animal shelter in LA back in 1994, and that she had a great life for a few years, with lotsa love and attention. I would do it again, and I probably will do it again when I can take another dog into my house.
Well, I haven’t lived in a cold climate for about 9 years, and unfortunately, that eskimo that used to eat snow did not live a long life. She got inflammatory bowel disease, and only lived to be about 6 years old. I miss her a lot. We did everything in our power to treat her for this auto immune disease, but in the end, we prolonged her life by a couple of years, but she didn’t make it to an old age, but at least we had her around for a longer period of time.
